Bunnies
This is Nicholas sleeping last night with Rheikas, aka Chris' Mom Dotty, slippers on. She brings, or as of now has brought, these slippers with her when she comes to watch them. Well apparently Nicholas has decided that these are now his slippers. He likes them so much he WILL NOT take them off and had to go to bed with them on. Chris informed me that Nick woke up at 12:30am yelling, he went to check on him and he was upset that one of his slippers had fallen off.

My little red mini
It has been less than a year of having my wonderful new netbook computer. It has a nice home in our kitchen and it is my only link to the outside world. I use it all day to check email, bank balance, recipes, shop, blog, facebook. The boys have taken to doing all kinds of terrible things while I take the 2 minutes to check my email... chase the dog, climb on the counter, beat each other up, scream, kind of like when I try to make a phone call. Well, the other day I came around the corner and Mr. Matt had got himself up on the kitchen counter and had the scissors and cut the power cord into 3 pieces. I was rendered speechless and calmly took the scissors out of his hands and got him off the counter. It took me a while to process what had just taken place. Not my link to the outside world!!! What am I going to do?!?!? Luckily my wonderful husband is a bit of an electronics geek and was able to restore the life line to my little red mini, and this was all before the battery went dead. Oh yeah, Matt was fine. This is not the only hit the mini has taken. There was one day when they both got it open and took a bunch of the keys off. This was interesting as there are a lot of little pieces under these things you type on which I was unaware of until I was on my kitchen floor with a flashlight trying to locate them. A huge thank you to my husband for the calm "Ok what did they do? I 'm sure I can fix it" when I call in a panic. Who knows what they will do to it next - nothing is safe.
The shiner
So as most of you have heard Nicholas was kind enough to start my new year off with a black eye. No not just a little bump, a full on old fashioned shiner! On New Years Eve no less. I was chasing him to change his diaper and he head butted me right in the face, the kind of hit where you see stars and then once you catch your breath wonder if there will be blood. Boy that little one has a hard head. He was fine, I was not. I proceeded to change his diaper and while I was doing that I could see my eye swelling up. I went to the bathroom to assess the damage and was not surprised to see a huge lump. Chris described it the best, "you look like a boxer." We went on with our evening, visited friends and joked about the swollen lump on my face. Well the next day and into the next couple of weeks the rainbow of colors appeared. Black, purple, green, blue, yellow. Every morning I went to the bathroom hoping it was gone, NOPE! Needless to say I had a lot of strange looks when I was out and even people who had heard about it when they actually saw me were surprised. It has pretty much gone away now but I am still a little jumpy in Nicks presence and a little more cautious with diaper changes.
