This will be our first official Christmas! We were around last year but little did everyone know there were two of us! We have been doing great, getting big, smiling, giggling, holding hands, blowing bubbles, drinking lots of bubbas and going through tons of diapers and don't forget drooling on EVERYTHING. There isn't anything that we need for our first big holiday just lots of hugs and kisses.
If Santa does have us on his list here are some ideas:
>Toys - over 6 months, maybe some blocks, stacking rings, anything we can chew on
>BJ's gift cards - Mom and Dad spend a lot of time there for diapers and formula
>Clothes - we have a lot of these as everyone has been very generous with hand me downs, but if you must 6 months and over, we are getting bigger everyday
>Playskool Made for Me MP3 Music Player - we already have the cool toy but the MP3 player would make it even cooler
We have created a Wish List at Amazon too if you need some ideas http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/3LP72TGM3K23P

To all the Moms
My hat is off to all the Moms out there! This is the toughest job I have ever had!!!! We just recently went through a week of all three of the George boys being sick at the same time. Coughing, sneezing, puking OH MY! How my Grandmother ever raised 10 kids I have no idea. Noone can prepare you for this and it is probably a good idea they don't or else there would be a lot less people having kids. Thank you to my own Mom for taking care of me, geesh you never know until you do it yourself.

The Things

Thing 1 - Nicholas and Thing 2 - Matthew have now made their photo debut! They are doing great, sleeping good, eating good, just started cereal, lots of giggles and plenty of smiles. I, as most of you may have heard, have started my new career as a stay at home Mom. This is not an easy career move as there is no vacation time, sick time, bonus checks, Holidays off or reward luncheons in my future. But there are certainly plenty of little smiles, first steps, first words and hugs and kisses to look forward to which will make it all well worth it.

The sneak attack
The boys had quite a surprise last Friday when they went for their doctors appointment, SHOTS! The nurses busted in and gave them shots at the same time. I guess this strategy is used so one doesn't have to be "first". They handled it pretty well. They are topping the scales at 10 and 11 lbs and have been deemed healthy by the doctor. We are getting a lot of smiles and coos and they have started to acclimate to somewhat of a routine. They have also started to sleep just a little bit longer and a little bit more sound every day. This is heaven sent for us as we couldn't handle much more of the 2 and 3 hour around the clock nap schedule we had for a while.

Interesting Question
Someone asked an interesting question the other day, "How are you?" We don't hear that too often anymore as everyone is asking how the babies are. We are good. Chris and I both agree that this is the hardest thing either if us has ever done. There are not enough books and advice that can explain what this whole process is like because you will never have any appreciation for having a baby, never mind two at once, until you do it yourself. As I am coming to find pregnancy and the birth were the easy part, making it through a day with 3 hours of sleep and adjusting your once carefree lives is what takes the most work. Our first children, the furry ones, are taking the brunt of this life change. I think if the dog hears, "Just one more minute honey" as 2 more hours pass since she has been out she may disown us. The kitties seem to know what lies ahead, long days of being chased by these little ones, they are getting their rest now. We certainly have a long road ahead of us but I think we will be just fine.

Getting so big!

Time is already going so fast
I can't believe it is already September, things around here have been quite a blur for almost a whole year! They boys are already getting so big, I swear we can watch them grow right before our eyes. They are both weighing in around 8 1/2 lbs and getting really long. Just this last week we have had to graduate into 0-3 months clothes and pack away the newborn/preemie stuff. They are eating like champs and have been doing pretty well with sleeping at night (Note how I say pretty well.) We have started to get smiles out of both of them and some coos here and there which make caring for them at 3am a much more rewarding experience.

Sleep? Are you serious!?
From a family of two to FOUR in a matter of months! We are all doing great! I am not sure why people tell you to get as much sleep as possible before they arrive, I am not sure there is such thing as enough sleep with two newborn babies :) Nicholas & Matthew have wrapped both of us around their very little fingers and we couldn't ask for better babies, other than when Matthew has decided from 2-4am that he needs the neighborhood to hear what he as to say.

"You haven't called me back"
Just wanted to let everyone know you may not hear back from us right away of you call. I have not been sleeping much at night so I have been catching up as much as I can during the day. I will keep the blog updated with the boys arrival or any major changes. It is nothing personal but I answer the same questions all day long.....
"How are you feeling?" - Pretty good for the most part. Getting uncomfortable as expected.
"I haven't heard from you, I was getting concerned" - You will hear from use eventually, consider no news, good news at this point.
"Are you getting excited?" - Of course we are getting excited!
"Is there anything you need?" - I am not too sure what we need at this point but thanks for asking. Is there something we should be needing?
"Make sure you call me right away." - We will call you when they are born
"How is Chris?" - Chris is hanging in there too. He has been doing an outstanding job taking care of me and getting things ready for the babies.
"Where are you going to deliver the babies?" - The doctors will let us know. Could be UMASS Memorial, Worcester or Harrington Hospital, Southbridge
We greatly appreciate all of your care and concern. These boys are very lucky to be brought into such a great group of friends and family.

11lbs of Baby
Yeah, that's right 11lbs! As of today the boys are weighing in at 5lbs 4oz and 5lbs 14oz and we have made it past the crucial 35 week mark. We couldn't see much on the ultrasound other than arms and legs everywhere as space is getting very limited as you can imagine. Chris and I are hanging in there and are looking forward meeting them soon.

Quite a hit
Glad to hear the blog is a hit. Nothing new to report this week. As they say no news is good news. The boys are kicking around in there and making me quite uncomfortable but that is the stage we are at now. I sleep whenever I can get it as this will be the end of sleep for me for a while :)

Hiccups?
Yes, hiccups. While trying to fall asleep last night, which is a chore in itself getting comfortable, baby A started with the case of the hiccups. Now I had read about this phenomenon but had dismissed it along with many other things I have read to keep my mind from overfilling. While A was hiccuping, B seemed to be giving him the "quit it" nudge. Who knows what they will do next, everyday has already started to be an adventure.

How am I feeling update - 32 weeks
As good as can be expected. We had an ultrasound last week and each little guy is weighing in over 3 1/2 lbs! Geesh!! That is 7 lbs of baby that I am carrying around. They are both right on track. Our 40 week due date is August 6, the dr's say sometime around 36-37 weeks is when twins are usually born, so we are leaving that in the hands of the boys to let us know.
Getting started
So here I am doing some things I never had expected 1. Creating a Blog, 2. Expecting TWINS! 3. and writing about it! Chris and I are getting very excited about our boys arrival. After the initial shock of pregnancy back in Nov, then finding out there were two at our first ultrasound appointment, we have been riding this emotional rollercoaster they call pregnancy. Fear, excitment, anticipation, joy, so many emotions but all good.
