At least me made it to 3.5
Since I have been posting all of the MAJOR happenings in the boys lives this one had to be posted. Christopher showed them today that we have video games at our own house. It's all down hill from here.

Mickey Mouses House
Another family vacation come and gone. This years was a huge hit and included a airplane ride, tram ride, driving their very own race cars, people mover and boat, OH MY. If you haven't already guessed it was Disney. We all had a great time. We got to meet the head mouse, ride all kinds of rides, eat lots of junk food and spend some time with the family.

TRRRRUCKS
Took the boys to their first Monster Trucks on Saturday and boy did they L O V E it! At first they were not too sure about all the noise but once they got settled in they were two happy little guys. Nick just stared in wonderment at the whole thing, like all his dreams had just come true. He was actually speechless at first. Matt wasn't sure about how loud it was but he had a smile on the whole time. It was a lot of fun for mom and dad too as we had such a good time and they were good as gold. We barely made it out of the parking garage before they were fast asleep dreaming about there wonderful adventure.

Bunnies
This is Nicholas sleeping last night with Rheikas, aka Chris' Mom Dotty, slippers on. She brings, or as of now has brought, these slippers with her when she comes to watch them. Well apparently Nicholas has decided that these are now his slippers. He likes them so much he WILL NOT take them off and had to go to bed with them on. Chris informed me that Nick woke up at 12:30am yelling, he went to check on him and he was upset that one of his slippers had fallen off.

My little red mini
It has been less than a year of having my wonderful new netbook computer. It has a nice home in our kitchen and it is my only link to the outside world. I use it all day to check email, bank balance, recipes, shop, blog, facebook. The boys have taken to doing all kinds of terrible things while I take the 2 minutes to check my email... chase the dog, climb on the counter, beat each other up, scream, kind of like when I try to make a phone call. Well, the other day I came around the corner and Mr. Matt had got himself up on the kitchen counter and had the scissors and cut the power cord into 3 pieces. I was rendered speechless and calmly took the scissors out of his hands and got him off the counter. It took me a while to process what had just taken place. Not my link to the outside world!!! What am I going to do?!?!? Luckily my wonderful husband is a bit of an electronics geek and was able to restore the life line to my little red mini, and this was all before the battery went dead. Oh yeah, Matt was fine. This is not the only hit the mini has taken. There was one day when they both got it open and took a bunch of the keys off. This was interesting as there are a lot of little pieces under these things you type on which I was unaware of until I was on my kitchen floor with a flashlight trying to locate them. A huge thank you to my husband for the calm "Ok what did they do? I 'm sure I can fix it" when I call in a panic. Who knows what they will do to it next - nothing is safe.
The shiner
So as most of you have heard Nicholas was kind enough to start my new year off with a black eye. No not just a little bump, a full on old fashioned shiner! On New Years Eve no less. I was chasing him to change his diaper and he head butted me right in the face, the kind of hit where you see stars and then once you catch your breath wonder if there will be blood. Boy that little one has a hard head. He was fine, I was not. I proceeded to change his diaper and while I was doing that I could see my eye swelling up. I went to the bathroom to assess the damage and was not surprised to see a huge lump. Chris described it the best, "you look like a boxer." We went on with our evening, visited friends and joked about the swollen lump on my face. Well the next day and into the next couple of weeks the rainbow of colors appeared. Black, purple, green, blue, yellow. Every morning I went to the bathroom hoping it was gone, NOPE! Needless to say I had a lot of strange looks when I was out and even people who had heard about it when they actually saw me were surprised. It has pretty much gone away now but I am still a little jumpy in Nicks presence and a little more cautious with diaper changes.

Couch Diving
Mr. Nick has had his first trip to the ER this last weekend. Seems that couch diving is not his sport. They were playing on the couch Saturday morning when there was a loud thud. Nicholas had hit his head on the end table and ended up with a pretty good cut, enough for Daddy to take him to the Emergency Room. We really hadn't taken into account how convenient it is to have a hospital within 5 minutes until we had these guys. He ended up with 4 staples and was a trooper for the whole thing.
Much to my surprise

Escapee
Are you kidding me...... I have a crib jumper on my hands! Matthew, of course it is him, has made it out of the crib. We knew it was a matter of weeks but did not think it would be this soon. Yesterday for nap he hopped out of his crib and into Nicks, then proceeded to hop out and collect all the toys and stuffed animals in the room and fill Nicks crib with them, to the TOP. I have to admit it was comical but where do we go from here? We are not ready for them to have total freedom never mind giving up naps. Today is the same story. No sooner did I close the door Matt was out of his crib and into Nicks. I thought I would try something new, so I went back in and quietly tucked them both into Nicks crib hoping that they may just want to snuggle up. No such luck! As I type this total mayhem is taking place upstairs. Off to see what I find today, wish me luck as I need it right now.

Already October!
Things have been good. The boys are just talking and talking and talking and talking, you get the picture. We have recently been for their 2 year check up, a little late of course, and they are right on track. Nicholas is still the taller and thinner one 29 1/2 lbs and 39 inches, while Matthew is still just a couple inches behind but has a couple of pounds on him 31 lbs and 37 1/2 inches. We have recently moved on from the highchairs as it was getting near impossible to stuff them in there anymore because they are so strong so its onto booster seats. This has brought on it's own challenges because now they will not stay seated for more than 10 seconds. Food has become low on the priority list because they are just so interested in everything.
Nicholas is learning his colors and letters and LOVES music. He dances and sings whenever the mood catches him, music or not. Matthew is quite the little helper, wants to feed the dog, the cat, and help me cook. He is also the aerialist of the two. There was one day recently when he managed to get out of his "special suit" for nap time, jumped his crib over to his brothers and launched his naked self into Nicholas' bed while Nick was sleeping. He was so very proud of himself when I went up there to see what was going on.
Sometimes you can't help but laugh at some of the crazy things they do.
